The specifics of what will be unveiled at Google I/O 2024 remain a mystery. The tech giant unexpectedly announced the event after launching an interactive puzzle game on its website. Despite the limited details, we can make educated guesses about the potential highlights based on the company’s recent activities.
Anticipated Updates on Gemini
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is expected to be a major focus at the event. The first quarter of 2024 has already been significant for Google AI with the introduction of the Gemini models, Google’s proprietary LLM, and the rebranding of several other AIs under the Gemini name. We anticipate multiple demonstrations showcasing the capabilities of this technology. More information may also be revealed about Gemma, the open-source counterpart of Gemini.

The same holds true for the Pixel Tablet 2. The company might be reserving that reveal for another occasion. If anything, I/O 2024 is likely to feature minor updates to other Google products, such as new Workspace tools and features for Android 14. It’s not expected to be anything too dramatic. The spotlight will likely be on Gemini.
