The “Xbox Support Virtual Agent,” an internal prototype, is an animated character that can interact with users through voice or text. Haiyan Zhang, General Manager of Gaming AI at Xbox, shared with The Verge, “The prototype makes it easier and quicker for players to get help with support topics using natural language, taking information from existing Xbox Support pages.”
A Step Towards Conversational AI
This chatbot is akin to the conversational AI bots that Microsoft encourages its customers to create using its Azure AI Bot Service. Companies like Vodafone and PwC have already utilized this service to build their own AI bots for automating support tasks.

Upon activation, the chatbot greets players with a friendly “How can I help you today?” and is capable of responding to a variety of support requests. Whether it’s a hardware issue or a subscription concern, the chatbot is equipped to provide quick and efficient solutions.
